  • Maximum File Size: 50MB
    (Smaller files load faster.)

Tips for Keeping File Size Small

  1. Exclude Unnecessary Elements:
    • Do not export: Cameras, animations, or materials.
  2. Simplify the File:
    • Use software like Blender to reduce file complexity with decimation tools.

Software That Export Directly to .FBX

  • Blender
  • Inventor
  • Fusion 360
  • Rhinoceros 3D

Software That Do Not Export to .FBX and Workarounds


SolidWorks

  1. Export as .STL:
    • Go to Save As → Select .STL.
    • Use the option to save as a single STL file.
  2. Convert Using Blender:
    • Open Blender and import the .STL file.
    • Press Tab to switch to Edit Mode.
    • Press A to select all, then press P to separate loose parts.
    • Export the file as .FBX. Keep in mind tips to keep file size small. 


AutoCAD

  1. Export as  DXF:

    • Save your file in DXF format.
  2. Use Blender or Another Converter:

    • If using Blender, Go to Edit → Select Preferences. Enable Add on  Import-Export: Import AutoCAD DXF Format (.dxf). 
    • Import the DXF file
    • Export the file as FBX. Keep in mind tips to keep file size small.
